Preparing Our Hearts for Annual Session: 30 Days of Prayer and Devotion - Day 28

Day 28 – The God of Abundance

Rev. Dr. Miriam Méndez

Executive Minister and Senior Regional Pastor, ABCNJ

Scripture

"Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine..." — Ephesians 3:20

Reflection

It is easy to focus on what we believe we lack. We may worry about limited resources, shrinking budgets, changing communities, or the many demands placed on the Church. Yet Scripture repeatedly reminds us that God is a God of abundance. God multiplied a widow's oil, fed thousands with a few loaves and fish, and transformed a small group of disciples into a movement that changed the world.

The future of God's work has never depended solely on human strength or resources. It depends on the limitless grace and power of God at work through ordinary people who trust Him. Again and again, God has taken what seemed small, ordinary, or insufficient and used it for extraordinary purposes. When we place our gifts, time, and lives in God's hands, He multiplies them in ways we could never accomplish on our own.

Hope grows when we stop measuring our future by our limitations and begin trusting in God's possibilities. Our confidence rests not in what we possess but in the God who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. As we remain rooted in Christ and open to the leading of the Holy Spirit, we discover that God's abundance is more than enough for every challenge and every calling.

Prayer

God of abundance, enlarge my vision and deepen my faith. Help me trust not in what I can accomplish alone, but in what You can do through Your people by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Practice

Offer one bold prayer today for your church, your community, or your own life—something that seems impossible without God's guidance and provision. Then trust God to work in ways beyond your imagination.
