Day 26 – Equipping the Next Generation

"And what you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will be able to teach others as well." — 2 Timothy 2:2

Reflection

The future of the Church is shaped by one generation's willingness to invest in the next. Paul understood that the gospel would continue to spread through faithful relationships of teaching, mentoring, and encouragement. Timothy was not only a student of the faith; he was entrusted with carrying that faith forward and preparing others to do the same.

Each of us can point to people God used to shape our lives—parents, pastors, teachers, mentors, friends, or fellow believers who nurtured our faith, encouraged our calling, and walked alongside us. Their investment reminds us that discipleship is never a solitary journey. We grow because others have shared their wisdom, prayers, and lives with us.

God continues to raise up new generations of disciples and leaders, each with gifts to serve the Church and the world. Our calling is to create space for others to grow, encourage their gifts, and walk beside them as they discover God's purpose for their lives. Passing on the faith is not reserved for pastors or teachers alone; it is the joyful responsibility of every follower of Christ. 

As we invest in others, we participate in God's ongoing work from one generation to the next.

Prayer

God of every generation, thank You for those who have encouraged and guided us in our faith. Help us to invest in the lives of others with generosity and wisdom, raising up new leaders to serve Your Church with hope and courage. Amen.

Practice

Pray by name for a younger believer, student, emerging leader, or someone growing in faith. Ask God to strengthen, encourage, and guide them in their calling.
