Day 25 – Courage for the Future

Scripture

"Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." — Joshua 1:9

Reflection

Every generation of God's people eventually stands at the edge of something new. Joshua faced the challenge of leading Israel after the death of Moses, stepping into a future filled with promise and uncertainty. God's word to him was simple: "Be strong and courageous." That courage was not rooted in Joshua's own ability but in the promise that God would go with him wherever he went.

The Church today also stands at the threshold of new opportunities and challenges. Communities are changing, ministry continues to evolve, and each generation is called to proclaim the unchanging gospel in fresh ways. Yet the God who has faithfully guided His people throughout history remains the same. God's presence remains constant, and God's promises remain sure.

Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the willingness to trust God amid uncertainty. When we remember that Christ goes before us, walks beside us, and dwells within us through the Holy Spirit, we are free to embrace the future with confidence. Whatever lies ahead, we do not journey alone. The One who calls us is faithful, and His presence is enough for every step of the way.

Prayer

Lord of every generation, replace my fear with faith and my uncertainty with trust. Grant me the courage to follow wherever You lead, knowing that Your presence goes before me and remains beside me each step of the way. Amen.
