Day 14 Joy In Serving

Scripture: Psalm 100:2 — "Serve the Lord with gladness…"

Reflection:

God never calls us to serve alone. From the beginning, he has been gathering a people shaped by grace, united in love, and sent into the world together. His work has always been a shared life, a shared ministry, and a shared joy.

Psalm 100 reminds us that serving is not merely a duty. It is an invitation to joy. We serve because we belong to God and, in Christ, are made one body. Jesus is our model of joyful

service. He came not for praise but to love, heal, teach, and give himself for others. Because

Christ is at the center of our life together, even the smallest acts, such as a kind word, a meal, a prayer, or a helping hand, can become meaningful in his name.

In the church, we must always remember that every person and every gift matters. Some lead, some encourage, some teach, some pray, and some quietly care for others. Together, we bear burdens, share wisdom across generations, and build one another up in love.

Serving is not always easy, but our joy rests in God’s goodness, not in perfect circumstances. So let us serve with gladness, trusting that in Christ our work is never lonely, never wasted, and always part of God’s loving purpose.

Prayer: Gracious God, thank You for the privilege of serving You alongside others. Renew our joy when ministry is difficult or exhausting and remind us that no act of love offered in Christ’s name is wasted. Help us recognize others’ gifts and serve with grateful hearts, trusting that together we participate in Your loving purposes. Amen.

Practice: Choose an ordinary act of service you might normally overlook—a phone call, a helping hand, a meal, a prayer, or a word of kindness. Offer it intentionally and joyfully to someone today, remembering that even simple acts become sacred when offered in Christ’s love.
