Rev. Peter Ely
Being a life-long learner is essential for followers of Jesus. It’s even more important for those who are in leadership positions such as clergy. ABCNJ Academy’s mission is to provide continuing education experiences for our region’s ministers so that they can become and continue to be life-long learners. The Academy provides topics and presenters who will teach practical knowledge and inspire a love for learning. After eight courses, our participants receive a Certificate of Excellence in conjunction with Palmer Theological Seminary and are well along on their spiritual journey to grow further in Christ. Peter Ely, ABCNJ Academy Director, has been serving in pastoral ministry for 38 years. He is currently serving full time as the Pastor of Princeton Baptist Church in Princeton Junction, NJ. He received his M. Div. in Church History from Vanderbilt University Divinity School and a D. Min. in Renewal of the Church for Mission from Palmer Theological Seminary. He also is an Adjunct Professor in the ESCM program at Palmer Theological Seminary having taught there for the last 14 years.
Peter’s wife, Teresa, is also an ordained ABC pastor. Together they have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. Peter has a heart for missions and training pastors in our mission fields. He has taught in Northeast India and is planning to join a training time this year for pastors in Rwanda.
