Mrs. Denise Gratzel
There are no strangers in our lives, only friends we haven't met.
Denise was born in Albany, GA and grew up attending a Southern Baptist church. Her most potent introduction to faith was her wonderful grandmother, who lived out a strong faith in the Lord and shared it with Denise.
Upon arriving in New Jersey as a child, Denise attended East Dover Baptist Church in Toms River. It was there, through the leadership of the Sunday school teachers and youth leaders, her faith grew and matured.
In 2003 Denise was part of a Medical Mission Team from ABCNJ to witness and minister to the people of Rwanda, Africa. A trip which changed her life. There her faith grew as she learned a new way to love both the Lord and people who very different from herself.
Denise wears many hats - mom, pastor's wife, and Dental assistant - but loves being a servant of the Lord more than all. During the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy, through her service in the Help Center in First Baptist Manasquan, she saw first-hand how the compassion of giving of one's self can be the greatest witness of Jesus' love to others.
Her lessons in service make Denise well-suited to take on the role of ABCNJ Disaster Response Coordinator, and she is excited to begin her work!
Denise is married to the Rev. Joe Gratzel, and together with their seven children they serve at the First Baptist Church in Manasquan, NJ.
