On May 13 Central Baptist of Riverton-Palmyra will be hosting their Third Annual Chili Cook Off to support Cedars of Lebanon 2020. This year two of ABCNJ's finest, Rev. Randy Van Osten of First Baptist Church Pitman and Rev. Chaz Hutchison of Scotch Plains Baptist Church, will be contributing chili to enter the competition. Come out to support a great cause and some of ABCNJ's finest cooks at the same time!

The "cook off" portion of Central's even has alway been tongue-in-cheek. While each paid ticket includes one vote, extra votes can be purchased for a dollar each. The winner is not necessarily the best chili, but the best fund-raiser. It's American politics at it's finest! 2017, however, adds a twist. One of Central's neighbors has created a trophy to be awarded to the chili he enjoys best. This bowl will be engraved and kept at the church as a reminder of who was the "Baptist Chili Champion."

Stillwaters Gospel Band will be playing throughout the gathering, adding to the charm of the evening.
