 Dr. Lois Spitzer was the honored guest speaker at a celebration dinner at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ridgewood on June 9.
The celebration was held to laud the accomplishments of a group of non-native speakers of English and their teachers who had come to Emmanuel Baptist for ESL classes.
 Rev. Dorcas Diaz-Shaner and Rev. Linda Hart-Green were on hand to join in the celebration and framed certificates as well as Olympic-styles medals were given to the students as momentos of their success. It was a joyous evening and a wonderful testament to the work of volunteers and caring Christians. Thanks to all the individuals who made the classes and the celebration dinner possible.
The teachers were trained last year by Dr. Spitzer thanks to funds provided by a Public Mission grant from ABCNJ.
