Welcome to ABCNJ's Haitian Ministries area! The following is a description of various activities undertaken by the ABCNJ Haitian ministry during 2006. Monthly Meetings: A monthly meeting is held at different church locations to cultivate mutual relationships and support among Haitian pastors, church officers and member churches within our region. Pulpit Filled: For over four years, the Haitian Bethany Baptist Church in Elizabeth and Haitian Bethel Baptist Church in Newark have been without a senior pastor. I am pleased to announce that both churches have called new pastors during this past year! Rev. Petion Jolimere, who had served as an intern Pastor, was officially installed in February 2006 as the Pastor of the Haitian Bethel Baptist Church. Last December, Rev. Feder Saint Juste was also officially installed as the pastor of the Haitian Bethany church. I was serving both Haitian Bethany Baptist Church and Haitian Baptist Church at the Crossroads. I’ve been released to be with Crossroads and can now better serve other Haitian churches as Associate Regional Pastor. Special thanks to Rev. Dr. Lee Spitzer and Rev. Elmo Familiaran for their support in this process. New Church Development: Haitian Pastors and church officers have been encouraged to promote and activate the “1010 New Church Planting Project.” The leaders need to engage their congregations spiritually, logistically and financially. That commitment constitutes the Haitian Ministry’s pledge towards reaching the 2010 New Church Development goal. At this time, we are working on a new church project in the southern New Jersey area. We ask for your prayers. Church Covenant with ABCNJ: Haitian Churches are constantly reminded of their responsibility toward ABCNJ. They should never forget that the same way ABCNJ stands for them, likewise they should also stand firm for ABCNJ. We are family and one in Christ! Church Visits: For the very limited time that I had, thanks be to God for allowing me to visit twelve Haitian churches among the fifteen that we have within our region! Rev. Dr. Edgard Nicolas, ABCNJ Associate Regional Pastor for Haitian Ministries
