ABCNJ is a fellowship of over 270 churches and 75,000 believers - and no one ethnic group has a majority! For many years, we have celebrated our cultural diversity as an integral part of our region's Christian witness. One in Christ is the name we give to this witness. The GEORGE D. YOUNGER ONE IN CHRIST SYMPOSIUM The One in Christ symposium is the centerpiece of ABCNJ’s One in Christ Ministries. It is the annual designated event where our churches gather together to celebrate our cultural diversity, and offer guidance to each other for our ongoing journey of being one in Christ. It is the venue where we address emerging issues and specific ministry opportunities emanating from the gift of the diversity of our cultural backgrounds. It is the intentional place where we listen and learn from each other’s experience of Jesus Christ and discern together how we may grow stronger in our common witness. Each year the Symposium traditionally brings a plenary speaker to address a major theme. Various activities and workshops are then built around the theme so that pastors and church leaders can avail of concrete resources that can equip them for their ongoing and respective ministries.
