"MORE THAN A WEEK IN JULY 2008"

(Experiencia contada por una participante en el Encuentro Nacional de la Juventud Bautista, "More Than a Week") 

More than just a trip, that’s what “More Than a Week” meant for me, a life changing experience that gave me the opportunity to find my way back to a strong relationship with God. But it was very interesting the way He did it, I went as a peer leader, so my job was to help youth from all over the country, especially the 14 young adults I was in charge of, to understand the message of this gathering. But the truth is that the teacher of all teachers taught me a lesson of let go and let him talk.

For the 10 days I was in Estes Park my worries and concerns were those 14 young adults and my back home group. By Forgetting about me I had the opportunity to see the amazing plan that God had been waiting to show me. The morning and evening worship gave me the opportunity to praise the Lord in a way that sometimes in our home churches we don’t get to do. But it was more than just raising my hands, more than jumping in the joy of the Lord; it was my whole heart open and lifted to him, my wonderful God.

I had the privilege to meet outstanding people that impacted my life in an infinite way, people that are still walking the path just like me and help me to see that I could not give up because I have a loving father that will cure my scrape knees when I fall and carry me if it’s needed through the tough times, that walks with me hand in hand and let’s me see him with the eyes of my soul.

The location of Estes Park is one of God’s extraordinary creations, its majestic mountains and beautiful scenery makes you feel a little closer to God. The accommodations gives everyone the chance to enjoy the experience of being away from their homes in a place were is hard not to be amazed by the greatness of God.

My congratulations to everyone that work to make this possible and my blessings to everyone that attended, because I know that God touch every single heart in more than one way…

JOVENES LATINOS DE NEW JERSEY ASISTIRAN A "MORE THAN A WEEK".-

El Encuentro Nacional de la Juventud de ABC-USA y Puerto Rico tiene su sede nuevamente este año en Estes Park, Colorado, los días 5 al 11 de julio venidero.

El evento es de suprema envergadura y de máximo alcance para la juventud de nuestras iglesias, y sus objetivos proponen grandes metas de desarrollo en la vida cristiana de nuestros jóvenes. Por eso, esta vez el programa tiene este "motto" - "more than a week" - "más que una semana". Quiere decir que esperan que su impacto tenga ulterior y permanente efecto en la vida y la espiritualidad de esa juventud. 

Así mismo es, porque ya hemos visto los resultados muy positivos de expreriencias anteriores, y estamos seguros que esta vez nos gozaremos en ver el crecimiento y avivamiento de los que van a participar, con la esperanza que luego contagien a los que han quedado en sus respectivas iglesias.

Ministerios Nacionales, que patrocina y promueve este Encuentro, ha decretado y solicita que las iglesias efectuen "40 Días de Oración por la Juventud" hasta que este evento haya terminado el 11 de julio, Dios mediante.

Each church can send three delegates with right to vote in this election.

Celebrado el Retiro Anual de la Juventud Bautista Latina de New Jersey

Con un notable éxito un grupo de jóvenes de nuestras iglesias concurrieron para un fin de semana de retiro campestre en los montes de Pennsylvania.

El tema del evento enfocó el mismo asunto que han tratado todo el año, en sus tres idiomas: "Constructores Sabios - Wise Men art Work - Constrcutores Sabios Trabalhando". (Mateo 7.24)

Una de las conclusiones de sus devocionales expresaba muy bien el resumen de toda la reflexión del momento: "La permanencia de la iglesia está basada en el carácter de su Constructor" (The permanence of the church is based on the character of the Builder).

Felicitamos a todos los que participaron, y a los campistas que tomaron fuerzas y tiempo para desarrollar la comunión con el Señor en tan hermoso ambiente. Sigan adelante.
