"Bringing Change to an Established Church"

Broadcast Venue: ABCNJ Offices

3752 Nottingham Way, Suite 100

Trenton, NJ

Satellite feed begins at 12 noon sharp and lasts until 1 PM

Rene Schlaepfer Senior Pastor, Twin Lakes Church, Santa Cruz, California.

Is there any hope for the old church on the corner?

It seems that the majority of today's church growth books and seminars are directed towards new churches: the emergent church and new church plants.

But what about the established church?

Some churches may need to close, but others need to be revitalized! According to author Randy Frazee, the protestant church in America has 87.5 billion dollars invested in church property - at the very least, it's just good stewardship to revive these churches!

What about you and your church? Are you a pastor, ministry leader or lay person who longs to bring change, energy and focus to an established church?

Join CCN and veteran pastor, Rene Schlaepfer as he gives you the tools to help your established church explode with growth before it implodes with conflict.

Says Rene, "... there's so much tradition, so many years of momentum behind the the way things are right now, that it can be a little scary... " but there is hope!

Over a 10 year period, Rene led a very old, dying church to quadruple in people actively seeking to follow Jesus. In his down-to-earth, real-life style, he shares invaluable insights from lessons learned the "hard way".

You'll explore these 6 truths about change:

  • It's uncomfortable.
  • It feels like loss.
  • It feels like there aren't enough resources.
  • People have different readiness levels.
  • Too much change overwhelms.
  • Relapse is natural.

Rene will walk your team through 20 critical steps towards revival:

  • Pray.
  • Start with the biblical mandate.
  • Understand and emphasize grace.
  • Take a realistic look around you.
  • Develop a positive group self-image.
  • Use personal testimonies and "hero stories".
  • Risk taking a leadership position.
  • Connect your church staff with resources and vision.
  • Identify your strengths.
  • and more!

Don't give up! Join us and learn that there's a harvest of joy for those who are not afraid to bring change to an established church!

Rene SchlaepferRene Schlaepfer is senior pastor at Twin Lakes Church near Santa Cruz, California — one of the least churched communities in the nation. René is a seasoned communicator to a wide variety of audiences. He has recently spoken at events in Atlanta, Austin, Nashville, San Diego, Mexico and Mombassa, Kenya -- and before becoming a pastor René worked for several years in Top 40 radio and television as an on air personality and voice-over artist.
