The First Baptist Church of Vincetown held an installation service for Rev. Jack Vars in February.

The First Baptist Church of Vincetown, NJ received the recommendation of their pastoral search committee following a year or more search for pastoral leadership.  Rev. Vars accepted the call to become their pastor and was received by the congregation with many affirmations.  Rev. Vars had served the congregation, first as Interim pastor and then two years ago was asked to be their Intentional Interim under a contract which increased his services with the congregation and provided continued outreach into the community.  The church took the essential steps of calling a pastoral search committee who explored many possibilities and after much prayer came to recommend Rev. Vars as their pastor.  He has provided pastoral services to this congregation now for nearly four years and now will continue leading them as they experience renewed growth and vision for ministry into the future.

Rev. Jack VarsAs part of the church's celebration of their pastor, they provided Rev. Vars with a new sports jacket and cap and encouraged him to become a loyal fan.  A lot of good humor was shared as Rev. Vars dawned the new jacket and cap.  "It has taken some time for Jack to see the light, but with this encouragement there is real joy from the sports fans in the congregation."  Now, to find time to see a game or two.

A wonderful reception was held at the church following the installation service and everyone enjoyed the time of fellowship that was provided to all who attended the services.  God has blessed this congregation and its ministry within the GDVA.
