The Fairview Community Baptist Church, where Rev. Dr. Mary Lovett is pastor, sustained extensive water damage this past week due to a broken pipe. The basement was flooded and extensive damage to items in this area was reported. The church is asking for your assistance as many of their members are older and unable to provide the necessary labor for the necessary cleanup before the insurance company can begin doing the repairs. Currently they are without heat as the boiler was also damaged by the water according to the information we received. On Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. those who can help with the cleanup are asked to be at the church to assist in this emergency situation. Contact Toni Benecchi, for details on how best to help and what to bring. Toni shared in a phone call: "It may take more than one day for the cleanup but we're going to begin on Saturday and see where we are at the end of the day. The church has been providing used clothing to persons in the neighborhood and most of them sustained some dampness and the members have taken them home to see what they can salvage. It is a mess, to say the least ,but God will see us through this and we deeply appreciate any one who can help us at this time." Toni Benecchi, is chair of the Greater Delaware Valley Association and is helping to coordinate this need. She can be reached at this email address: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Leave a call back number where she can reach you in the evenings because she is a teacher and it is hard to connect while classes are in session. An Email was sent to GDVA pastor's who would have received additional contact information as well.
